Peter Shannon's attendance at the 71st Anniversary celebrations also saw him complete formal training assessments for Doce Pares 6th Grade Black Belt ranking in January, 2004.

Doce Pares Australia also participates in a Sponsorship Program headed by GM Diony Cañete for young adults in Cebu City. This program helps to provide schooling and Filipino martial arts training for selected individuals and close ongoing relationships with the sponsorship group, the individual young adults and their families.

This program has now been running for a number of years and on the most recent training trip, December 2008, it was also wonderful to interact with the scholarship group and see their growth as both martial artists and young adults. The scholarship program has certainly had a positive impact, and Doce Pares Australia is proud to contribute towards it.
